June 29, 2000 Two years ago I had a difficult time finding information about Classic Pooh counted cross stitch patterns. Detailed below is all the information I've gathered which will hopefully be of help to you in your quest for the same. Unfortunately I could not find a source for Classic Pooh kits in the United States; the ones I found are located in the United Kingdom. Please note that the information I originally gathered was about Classic Pooh, not Disney Pooh; however, all of the websites listed below also carry Disney Pooh. I've expanded this page to include more Disney Pooh. So . . . if you're interested in Disney Pooh, see #5 Disney Pooh Counted Cross Stitch (and other needlecrafts/crafts) A little background regarding my search for Classic Pooh counted cross stitch patterns: I started looking for Classic Pooh counted cross stitch patterns in June 1998, when my niece asked me if I knew where to find Classic Pooh counted cross stitch patterns. She was married October 1998. I knew that their plans included having children and that she wanted at least one Classic Pooh counted cross stitch for the wall of her future baby's room. I made them Christopher Robin and Pooh prepare to discover the North Pole for Christmas 1999. She and her husband had a wonderful baby boy on May 11, 2000, and the finished project will look wonderful in his new room when they move into their new home (They're in the middle of moving from the West Coast to the East Coast now. After they're settled, I'll ask her to send me a picture of the finished project and I'll scan it and put a copy on this webpage.) When I started my search in June 1998, using the search engines to find "Classic Pooh counted cross stitch" was a challenge and did not give me the results I wanted. (Note: On 6-29-00 when I searched Yahoo for those words, several of the websites listed below were provided, but no such luck two years ago.) Susan's Classic Pooh Cross Stitch Resource Page ended up being the most helpful resource. I found that website through the Friends of Pooh webring. (Now I found it by searching for "Classic Pooh counted cross stitch"; again, I had no such luck two years ago.) You may ask why I bothered with this webpage since most of the Classic Pooh counted cross stitch websites are the same as she lists; I wanted to retain the list just in case her webpage ever disappears. Also, I list the name of each kit currently available. I hope you find this information helpful to you. If you do, I'd love to hear from you. Please send me an e-mail.

Susan's Classic Pooh Cross Stitch Resource Page Note: The above is a great resource for Classic Pooh Counted Cross Stitch sites. As of 6-29-00, it lists the websites I list below in #3 and #4 for CLASSIC POOH Counted Cross Stitch. I've listed the websites myself below in case Susan's Classic Pooh Cross Stitch Resource Page ever disappears. Also, I list the name of each kit currently available, and I have expanded this page to include some Disney Pooh kits/charts. < To Top > |

StoryBook Favorites in Cross Stitch by Gillian Souter published by Dutton Children's Books (ISBN: 0525456139). It's a hardback book with 3 Classic Pooh charts, as well as charts of Beatrix Potter, Paddington Bear and various others. In 1998 ordered this book for my niece from Amazon and received it within a few days. (The local bookstores would have taken weeks to get it in stock.) However, as of June 2000, this book is currently out of stock at Amazon (see comments below). I haven't been able to find the book anywhere, not even at websites or stores that carry out of print books. You may want to check your local library to see if they have a copy you can borrow. The three Classic Pooh patterns the book contains are:
Images of Two of
the Patterns in As mentioned above, I made Christopher Robin and Pooh prepare to discover the North Pole (#2) for my niece and her husband as a Christmas gift. It came out wonderfully. My only criticism about the chart: there were a LOT of what I call 1/4 and 3/4 stitches, which made it a real challenge. But it was worth the extra effort, because there are no sharp edges in the finished item. (If you decide to do this chart and want more explanation by what I mean by 1/4 and 3/4 stitches and how I did them, please e-mail me for details.) In January 2000 I discovered that the book is out of print. I checked Amazon's page about the book and they state:
Hopefully they will carry it again soon -- keep checking their site periodically if you want the book. Or, as indicated above, you may want to check your local library to see if they have a copy you can borrow. < To Top > |

sewandso.co.uk.- Home Page Note: When I checked their site on 6-29-00, I could not find the pages that I had previously bookmarked; I got the message that they had just completed a major update to their site and changed the names of some of the files. As of 6-29-00, the links to individual pages below are correct; however, if they are not at some later date, just do the following when you're on their Home Page:
They currently carry 17 kits, as follows: Classic Winnie the Pooh Collection - Items 1-10 of 16

The information I've gathered above is about Classic Pooh, not Disney Pooh; however, all of the websites listed above that carry Classic Pooh Kits also carry Disney Pooh kits. Below is a list of the sites that carry Disney Pooh kits that I've come across in my travels looking for Classic Pooh. I've included the sites listed above, as well as other sites that only carry Disney Pooh. I indicate whether the website only carries Disney Pooh or carries Classic and Disney Pooh items.
